Always have to wait a while to be seen by an Optician when sitting waiting, place was fairly quiet in terms of customers but so many assistants working but distinct lack of opticians. The consulting room in Boots Gyle Edinburgh was a little shabby, marks on carpets, junk thrown behind eye test equipment. Very tired looking, could use a lick of paint and a carpet.

I would like to thank Sarah Renton for explaining everything so clearly to me as I now require distance glasses as well as reading glasses. Sarah really took time to ensure I understood everything. She made me feel at ease, which made me feel comfortable to ask all the questions I had. Thank you Sarah. I would also like to thank Callum, who helped me choose my glasses. He took time to explain the different types of glasses and lenses which would suit. Callum had such a lovely manner and made the experience of choosing glasses enjoyable as it sometimes is quite stressful trying to find a pair that suits me and now I need 2 pairs. In the end I was so impressed, I asked if Callum could also help me to choose sunglasses as I will require these for both distance and reading. Callum's customer care was outstanding and I would like to thank him for all his help. I really appreciated the time he took with me. I will definitely be recommending Boots Opticians to my family and friends. This was such a positive experience for me. Many thanks.

All staff very friendly and helpful except for optometrist. Little or no communication - no discussion of what glasses were for - I had to tell her and it turned out when I got the glasses she had prescribed they were far too strong and were useless for the work I do. Went to another branch of Boots and had eyes re-tested. No-one admitted that they ones that had originally been prescribed were totally wrong, but I got a different prescription which was half the strength! Do not go to Boots at the Gyle!
